Pool Cover Specialists (PCS) exclusive Universal Double Dog gear has 4 square teeth. The gear only requires a quarter turn of the motor, 45 degrees, to accomplish full engagement. This results in the drive gear engaging with the pulley mechanism at a much lower speed and better synchronization when they come together. When this happens you drastically decrease the inherent effects of galling, grinding, and excessive wear. This goes a long way to prevent system failure, and in turn, eliminate those costly service calls and pool down time.
Another feature of the Pool Cover Specialists exclusive Universal Double Dog gear is the fact it fits both a Left & Right handed Pool Cover Specialists system. During installation if you find you have ordered the wrong motor side, you can simply remove the stainless steal pin in the universial gear & rotating the gear 180º and then reinsert the pin. This instantly changes operation of the gear. While there are a few other steps that will need to be taken, this can eliminate hours of work when dealing with other Mfg systems.
